Compressed Air Car Challenge

In 2009, we sponsored “The Bullets” team from the Noosa District State High School to compete in the “F1 in Schools” Compressed Air Car Challenge in London. This is an International event at which Australia has been represented since 2004. Teams of students from throughout the world design, manufacture, and race compressed air powered cars made from balsa wood under standardized conditions.

Our team made three separate attempts at National Competition level of "F1 in Schools" and were rewarded for their efforts by being given the right to compete as a collaboration team along with two students from Miles MacDonnell Collegiate in Winnipeg, Canada. Despite the demands of preparing for this competition with team members from half way around the world, The Bullets, competing as AC Racing took first place from five other collaboration teams and placed third outright in the world.  Well done to all involved!
