Lifetime Installation Warranty

Terms and Conditions of Lifetime Installation Warranty for Solar Power Systems 

Solar Power Specialists (SPS) warrants the installation of its on grid and off grid solar power equipment to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the duration of the longest warranty period of the products installed.

All equipment is covered by the respective manufacturer’s warranty provided that it is used in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions as set out in the manuals supplied.

This lifetime warranty applies to the original owner of the system and is not transferable to subsequent owners of the system.

In the event that the installation proves defective during the warranty period, SPS, at its discretion, will:

(1) repair the installation at no charge for parts and labour; or

(2) replace the faulty product with a comparable product which may be new or refurbished,

sufficient to return the installation to the performance set out in the purchase agreement.

Above and beyond the foregoing this warranty does not cover freight or insurance costs associated with the return of faulty items to the place of manufacture for evaluation, repair or replacement.

All claims will be handled in accordance with prevailing SPS warranty procedure.

This warranty shall not apply to any failure, defect, or damage caused by improper use or improper or inadequate maintenance and care.

 

SPS shall not be liable in anyway under this warranty for:

  1. a) costs associated with  repairs, parts or actions supplied or undertaken by parties other than employees   of, or agents acting on behalf of SPS;
  2. b) repair of any malfunction, damage, or degradation of performance resulting from use other than which the system design intended;
  3. c) repair of any malfunction, damage, or degradation of performance resulting from force majeure (including hail damage);
  4. d) repair of any malfunction, damage, or degradation of performance resulting from mechanical, chemical, or water damage;
  5. e) user maintenance, cleaning or repair of any malfunction, degradation of performance resulting from failure to perform sufficient user maintenance and cleaning as prescribed in the Clean Energy Council (CEC) guidelines;
  6. f) repair of any malfunction, damage, or degradation of performance resulting from use of the product in an environment not meeting the operating specifications set forth in the user manual, as supplied;
  7. g) replacement of items that have been abused, misused, or tampered with in any way;
  8. h) replacement of items from general ware and tear;
  9. i) conducting earthworks, cabling and power reticulation not associated with the interconnection of the solar power system equipment listed in the SPS original quotation documentation; or
  10. j) conducting works associated with bringing the property into conformity with AS/NZ 3000 standard to achieve certification, as required.

SPS will in no way be liable for consequential, incidental, contingent or special damages.
