The Sloping Ground Mount

The Sloping Ground Mount

The PV array needed to present as low a profile as possible leaving the stunning views from the veranda unimpeded.

The client approached SPS Energy at the commencement of the residence build anxious to complete the installation of their On Grid PV solar system prior to the building envelope reaching lock up.

This was necessary as a swimming pool was to be constructed off the residence front veranda, blocking access and wiring routes once commenced.

The area designated for the PV array was on the northern face of a filled section of the block with poor compaction and the risk of movement due to settling and subsidence.

A ground mount PV module frame was engineered to serve a dual purpose as it was also required to stabilise the slope.

The PV array needed to present as low a profile as possible leaving the stunning views from the veranda unimpeded.

The project was completed on time, on budget and met all the client’s criteria resulting in a low carbon residence from the first day.

Discrete and durable, this installation demonstrates that a PV array can be tastefully married into a decorative setting and complement the visual amenity without loss of function or excessive cost.
